FutureStaff is pleased to announce that it has been named to Inavero’s 2012 Best of Staffing™ Client list. Best of Staffing, presented in partnership with CareerBuilder, is the nation’s only award that recognizes staffing firms that receive remarkable reviews from their clients. Fewer than 1% of North American staffing firms have been named to the 2012 Best of Staffing Client List.

Staffing firms competing to make the Best of Staffing list underwent a rigorous client survey process followed by careful analysis of responses to determine satisfaction levels. FutureStaff received satisfaction ratings of 9 or 10 out of 10 from 83 percent of their clients, significantly higher than the industry’s average of 50 percent. Best of Staffing participants secured a place on the list by earning an average Net Promoter Score that was nearly double the national staffing industry benchmark for client satisfaction.

“The staffing industry continues to play a key role in helping to revitalize the economy,” said Eric Gregg, Inavero’s Founder and CEO. “Staffing firms give growth-minded organizations a more flexible alternative to recruiting their own employees, letting both the employee and employer determine if the fit is right for a more permanent position. Both sides receive tremendous value in a flexible, yet meaningful working relationship, and as they engage with staffing firms to help achieve those goals, the service experience they have is very important to their success. The Best of Staffing lists are a resource for businesses and talent who are trying to find staffing firms that provide exceptional service.”

Inavero’s complete Best of Staffing list can be viewed at www.bestofstaffing.com. For more information about Inavero, visit www.inavero.com.

It was an exciting day in Newnan as I attended Cancer Treatment Center of America’s groundbreaking. CTCA will make a huge impact on the economy in South Atlanta but I learned they are also making a huge impact in the lives of their patients. The hospital staff operates with the quest of following what they call the Mother Standard of Care. This means the entire CTCA staff is driven by the whole person treatment option and the kind of care they would want for their own family. CTCA doesn’t treat cancer rather they treat the patient who has cancer.

There were many events taking place on the CTCA property as dignitaries from all over the state arrived for the ceremonies. I was able to attend the Economic Impact Briefing which was hosted by David Kent, Senior VP of Operations for the Newnan facility. David moderated a panel consisting of Greg Wright, President of the Coweta County Development Authority, Candace Boothby, President of the Newnan Coweta County Chamber of Commerce and John McNeil, President and CEO of Cancer Treatment Center of America’s Philadelphia Hospital. During the panel discussion we learned that over the next 12 months construction crews will be busy completing the 215,000 square foot phase I of the hospital. Phase II of the project is projected to increase the size of the facility to 260,000 square feet. During the first year of operations CTCA plans to employ 150 associates with 100 of those coming from the local community. Over the next 5 years it is projected that the hospital will hire up to 900 employees with a $500 million economic impact. For every 3 hospital jobs there are 7 more community jobs created due to growth in supporting businesses and vendors that are needed to help the hospital achieve its mission. Candace and Greg spoke of our communities’ goal of becoming a medical hub. We are certainly well on our way to that goal when I consider CTCA’s and Piedmont Newnan’s investment in the Coweta County community.

Newnan’s Job Networking Group has been serving the community by helping job seekers learn about the most up to date techniques for finding a job for years. Each month’s meeting features a keynote speaker, networking and time for local companies to highlight available openings. FutureStaff has supported the group by attending, highlighting available jobs and volunteering our staff member’s time as speakers. It seems that every month we are able to partner with at least one job seeker to provide a job.

This month’s keynote speaker was Dan Cathy, COO and President of Chick fil A. Dan delighted the audience with engaging stories and helpful information. My take way was Chick fil A’s 2M2N program. 2M2N means 2nd Mile 2nd Nature. This attitude has certainly helped Chick fil A dominate their market. It is time well spent to think about how this principle can be applied to any goal, particularly finding a job. It is so easy to get caught up in the latest technologies and job boards for a job search and lose sight of keeping “the main thing”, “the main thing”. For me the basics are the “main thing”. Less than 10% of the jobs are filled using on-line tools. Most jobs are filled by who you know, networking and having a 2M2N attitude. You can learn more about 2nd Mile 2nd Nature, leadership as well as many other great topics at the Cathy family’s website.

What business isn’t looking to control expenses? Staffing firms offer many effective solutions for reducing overhead, managing operating costs and improving organizational performance. Used effectively, staffing services can save you more than they cost.

Here are some key ways you can use staffing to reduce costs in your organization:

Convert fixed expenses to variable. Develop a plan to staff your business strategically. Minimize the number of permanent employees on your staff to the level needed to sustain your core volume of work. Proactively plan to bring in extra help when it’s needed.

Bring in expertise on an as-needed basis. Temporaries can deliver the experience and skills you need without impacting fixed expenses. As an added benefit, temporary “experts” are often less expensive than consultants.

Lower benefits costs. Limit benefits expense by using temporary employees. Most temporary employees receive only limited benefits which are paid by the temporary staffing service. Companies with extensive benefits programs may not want to offer full benefits to all employees. Using a temporary staffing, payrolling or employee leasing service may make it possible to offer more limited and cost effective benefits programs to these employees.

Eliminate overtime. Use temporary employees to reduce the amount of overtime worked by your permanent staff.

Reduce training costs. Reduce training costs and learning curves by bringing in temporary employees who are trained and have experience using the skills you need.

Streamline recruiting. Use a permanent placement service to eliminate the costs and time involvement associated with advertising, screening resumes, interviewing, testing and reference checking applicants.

Lower payroll expenses. Eliminate the costs associated with processing and administering your company’s payroll and benefits by using a payroll or employee leasing service.

Reduce unemployment claims. Using a temporary in place of a short-term employee prevents an unemployment claim from affecting the client company. Legally, payrolled or leased employees work for the company providing the payrolling or employee leasing service. All claims affect the staffing service’s unemployment rating, not yours.

Eliminate operating inefficiencies. Inefficient functions can be outsourced to services that can perform the work more effectively. The outsourcing service should be able to reduce expenses and improve performance while allowing your company to focus on its core competencies.

Develop a Strategic Staffing Plan for Your Organization
